Local (Mental Health) Advisory Council: The need for and value of a Local Advisory Council was identified by the 1999 Legislature. Local Advisory Councils are one of the elements of a system of public mental health care that emphasizes the importance of local participation in planning for mental health services in the community.

	The Local Advisory Council was called for by the 1999 Montana State Legislature to increase local public participation and awareness of mental health issues and care. The local advisory council is a coalition of community members interested in assessing, planning and strengthening public mental health services in our community. We welcome anyone who has experienced mental health problems or who cares about the mental health of our community to come to our meetings. We welcome your voice, skills and talents. By becoming involved, you can make a difference in our community. We meet at noon on the second Monday of each month in the Gallatin County Courthouse on 311 W. Main Street in Bozeman. We meet in the Community Room on the third floor. Contact Glenda Howze for further information.
