Wild West WinterFest introduced a new dog event this year. The finals for "Canines and Can" was held immediately following the Trail Horse Battle. The pattern was the classic barrel horse pattern and dogs showed that they can rip the barrels as well as any fined tuned quarter horse.
1st - Nero, a one year old Border Collie, run by Nancy Creel with a time of 10.67
2nd - Clover, Cindy Connor's rescue dog in 15.88
3rd - Paisly, Jeannie Biggers veteran Aussie in 16.31
The fastest time of 10.43 was set by Saige and Jeannie Biggers. Sadly they took the top barrel in the wrong direction.
Just like barrels racing you must run the pattern correctly!
