Agility with Jeannie Biggers will begin on March 8th this year! This session will be held on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. We are in an indoor coverall arena off of Harper Puckett Road. This barn does have a fee for use so there is a $40 fee per participant for 8 weeks. Once the weather turns nice we will return to my backyard at no cost. We need a minimum of 4 participants to sign up! Please contact me before February 29th so I know we have enough to hold the class!! For directions and more info you may visit www.bardotagility.com and click on 4-H Info. You may also contact me at
jeannie@bardotagility.com or 580-8098.
Requirements for this class: · Dogs must be 12 months or older · Dog and participant must have already taken the 4-H obedience class, been a past 4-H agility participant, been to some other agility class, or be pre-approved to join. · Dog must be able to be
under the participants control while on a slip leash.
What to bring: · Your dogs favorite toy or better yet their favorite treat and lots of them!! Cheese, hot dogs, etc. are great treats. If you bring hard treats please bring small ones. · 3 poop bags! 1 for when your dog potties, another for when they decide they weren’t quite done the first time, and the 3rd for your friend that forgot to bring poop bags! · Warm clothes, hat, gloves, etc…. this is a barn and can get quite chilly.
Basic rules of the barn: Drive slow as you come into the owners place. Park along the barn on the south side. ALWAYS pick up after your dog. Dog must always be on leash.
If the temperature falls below 20 degrees, the class will be canceled. I look forward to seeing you all this year!!
Agility with Anne Dixon: Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30pm at the Fairgrounds, Livestock Building #1. The training year will meet continuously until the 4H Fair Trial in July. We will not meet the week of Holidays, school breaks, or if the weather at noon is 10 degrees or colder. Bring your dog, LOTS AND LOTS (at least twice as much as you think you may need) of meat based treats, at least 3 poop bags and an attitude of fun and energy! Dogs need to be on leash when not working, on a flat (normal buckle) collar or in a crate. So, lets get ready to play with our dogs! Anne Dixon - The Dog Lady, themontanadoglady@gmail.com, 209-4997

The 4-H dog project is designed for youngsters who are interested in learning more about dogs, how to care for a dog, and how to train a dog in basic or advanced commands. The dog project is unique and is not meant to conform to AKC dog show or other professional standards. Although beginners do not need to own a dog to participate in the first level of the project, the more advanced levels do require dog ownership. You'll need to keep you journals up-to-date and record expenses for the project. Each level may take up to three years to complete. You must complete a minimum of 7 activities and three learning experiences each year to complete the project. Depending on you area of interest in the dog project, you must sign up on your enrollment card in one of the three levels, and also sign up for either dog obedience (3101) or dog
and puppy care (3102) within each level. This will help your county Extension office know your specific interests in the dog project.
DOG, Level 1 - 3110
This level is the first in a series of three levels for youth interested in dogs. The activities are for those who may or may not have a dog of their own. The important thing is that you want to learn more about dogs. If you don't have a dog, some of the activities in this level may help you decide whether you want to make the commitment to own and care for a dog. You will also be able to learn what kind of dog would be best for you and your family, and how much training you want to give it. You may take up to three years to complete this level. You must complete a minimum of 7 activities and 3 learning experiences each year to complete the project.

You'll also investigate dog breed origins, find out why dogs are neutered or spayed, compare dog foods, learn how to communicate about dogs, and more. Like level one, an achievement program is included to guide your efforts and provide an opportunity to be recognized for meeting your goals. You may take up to three years to complete this level.
