The Montana 4-H program will be changing policies and procedures regarding volunteer application and screening. The Montana 4-H Center for Youth Development has developed new policies and procedures regarding this process. This process includes criminal background checks through HireRight (a screening company) and name checks against the Montana Sexual and Violent Offenders Registry. All current and new direct volunteers (those that have direct one-on-one contact with youth) will take part in this process. No volunteers will be “grandfathered” in. Prior criminal background screenings from other entities will not be accepted.
