The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office has eight detectives assigned to investigations. Five are assigned to General Investigations and are responsible for large felony investigations, sexual crimes, and certain property and financial crimes.
One of the detective's is assigned to this division is a school resource officer, and provides a valuable law enforcement liaison to all nine schools within the county, but outside of city jurisdictions.
Two of our detectives work with the multi-jurisdictional Missouri River Drug Task Force (MRDTF) which is headquartered in our office. MRDTF consists of a consortium of eight southwestern Montana counties. Their primary responsibility is handling drug investigations.
