Montana Registration Renewals via Mail or Email
What do you need?
Via mail, E-mail , fax (406) 582-3082 or phone (406) 582-3080:
You will need one of the following forms of information:
1. Copy of old registration
2. Renewal notice
3. Vehicle information
a. Title number
b. Plate number
c. Vehicle Identification Number
Via mail - Payment options:
1. A check for the amount of registration
2. Credit card- MC or Visa (3 % charge for the use)
a. We will need the card number and expiration date

Resident of another state – working in Montana
Out of state residents working in Montana must register their vehicles in Montana.
You must have a current out of state registration.
Moving to Montana
You will need to transfer your out of state title to Montana in the county in which you reside.
If you wish to renew in person, visit our office located at 311 W. Main Room 102 and we require one of the above forms of information. In person we only accept cash and checks.
