Flu and Pneumonia Immunizations
Inoculations are offered each Fall and funded through Medicare and Medicaid.  They are highly recommended for seniors. These are also done at Senior Centers in the outlying areas.  Other vaccines, such as those needed for international travel, are offered throughout the year, by appointment.

Free or low cost breast exams, mammograms, and pap tests for income eligible women aged 50-64.

Social and Recreational Programs-Many opportunities for social and recreational activities are available: pinochle and other card games, bingo, dances, painting/drawing, classes, creative writing, pool, puzzles, and special events throughout the year which include pancake breakfast, fish fry’s, organized trips for daily outings, talent shows, English teas, Nostalgia days in the park, special dinners and entertainment.

Gentle Aerobics (may be done seated)
Monday and Friday 9-10 A. M. Class begins with gentle movement and progresses to movement that will provide strength and coordination balance, flexibility, mind-body exercise and breathing techniques. Therabands and hand and leg weights are used.

Aerobics Plus Class: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:30-11:30 A.M.
A faster paced class, incorporating the same components as the gentle aerobics with most of the class done standing up.

Aerobics Combo: Tuesday 9:00 A.M.
A standing class, slower paced than Aerobics Plus, but the same format.

Cross Country Ski/Snow-shoeing:          Bozeman Senior Center has a new program, starting in January 2009 where organized trips are planned for each Tuesday, starting @ 9:00 AM, leaving from the Senior Center.

Hiking and or Walking program:  8:30 a.m. Hiking on Tuesday, Walking on Wednesday from June through mid September.
Local trails ranging from 1 to 8 miles.  Complete itineraries at the Bozeman Senior Center front desk.

Pedometer Walking Project:  Designed to help us keep moving during the winter months.  This class starts in January.  A pedometer is used to keep track of your steps, with the goal to increase steps taken throughout the day.  The group “TRAVELS” (without leaving) to various places and learns about countries and areas as we travel.  The Senior Center Kitchen crew then prepares great meals that represent the areas toured.  Call the Center 586-2421.

Silver Sneakers:   Tuesday and Thursday 1:00 p.m.  
Movement to music with intervals of weights, tubing, and a ball to increase strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion.  Chair and some standing, may just use a chair.

Strong Women/ Strong People
A proven weight lifting program designed and researched at Tuffs University for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.  This class is offered at various times throughout the year.  

Tai-chi:  Tuesday and Thursday 10:15 A.M.     Based on old Chinese system, exercise is characterized by a series of slow deliberate movements coordinated with the breath that will increase strength, balance, relaxation, flexibility, circulation and mental concentration.
Tai-chi for Arthritics:  Monday and Friday 11:30 am Tuesday and Thursday 11:20 am  
You set your own pace and level. Designed to relieve arthritic pain and achieve greater mobility through movement.

Workout Equipment Room:  Open 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday.  Includes two electronic Life fitness treadmills, recumbent bicycle and elliptical machine.  A $10.00 monthly exercise card entitles anyone over the age of 50 to unlimited use of the exercise equipment as well as all the fitness classes offered each month.  Seventeen different exercise and fitness classes are offered each week.

The newly integrated Cancer Center opened in May 2006 and places medical oncology and radiation oncology services together in an expanded cancer healing center.  The new physically integrated center promotes a team approach to oncology care.  Patients have a more comfortable space in a single location, which provides a more coordinated approach and will allow ease of access for physicians to conference on cases.
